ARMORSIL Retarder is water reducing and set retarding admixture for concrete. ARMORSIL Retarder does not contain calcium chloride and other corroding materials. ARMORSIL Retarder temporarily stops the hydration process, delaying the initial setting time in proportion to the amount of dosaging. At the completion of the initial setting time, curing commence at an accelerated rate.
ARMORSIL Retarder is typically used to produce:
- Prestressed Concrete
- Concrete requiring water reduction and set time control
- Hot weather concrete placement
- Readymix concrete requiring long travel time from plant to site
- Ready-mixed concrete.
- Pumped concrete.

Consumption and Direction for use :
Typical dosage would be between 0.5 % to 3% depending on the intended duration for extending set time. Note that the actual dosage for any situation would depend on trial mixes, the initial extension of the required set time, temperature and cement type.
